Palestra na Terra dos Sonhos com Fernanda Freitas

Quinta-feira ao final da tarde e estamos na Terra dos Sonhos. Já na sala onde decorrerá a palestra com a Fernanda Freitas toca a campainha. Diz ela: "Deve ser um sonho. Se não for pode ser uma rabanada!" E este começo ditaria o tom de toda a conversa com uma oradora que se define como "Mãe, empresária / empreendedora social e voluntária".

Fala-se do Ano Europeu do Voluntariado do qual esteve à frente em 2011. Conta-nos que fizeram muita coisa, percorreram todo o país e mesmo assim devolveram metade do orçamento que lhe foi disponibilizado. Sempre de forma descontraída, alerta para a importância da formação antes de se iniciar um trabalho voluntário, de como a identificação é importante e de que em áreas específicas o apoio psicológico é fundamental (falamos por exemplo de quem trabalha com crianças hospitalizadas, como é o seu caso).

Já fez voluntariado em prisões e com pessoas mais velhas, mas são as crianças que fazem o seu coração bater mais depressa. Essas mesmas crianças que - nós não sabíamos - não podemos abraçar, mas que nos podem dar abraços; isto deve-se, por exemplo, ao risco do cateter que muitas têm no peito (estamos a falar no Instituto Português de Oncologia) se poder espetar no coração. E a vontade de retribuir o abraço é tão grande (podemos imaginar).

Ficamos também a saber que as Nações Unidas distinguem todos os anos 10 voluntários, que por lei só a partir dos 15 anos se pode fazer voluntariado e que no próximo ano vai ser lançado um projecto neste campo para pessoas com mobilidade condicionada e invisuais.

Não fosse tudo isto já o suficiente para encher de coisas boas todos os que decidiram ali estar, ela faz connosco a partilha da tarde: a Nuvem Vitória! É o seu novo projecto. Novo só na execução porque está na sua cabeça desde 2011. Começou como um projecto-piloto de 6 meses no Hospital de Santa Maria e foi neste dia partilhado com o mundo e connosco em primeiríssima mão, privilégio é o que me passa pela cabeça! O projecto conta com 40 voluntários que vão contar histórias para as crianças deste hospital adormecerem. Mais uma vez no seu jeito particular, diz: "Contar uma história ou serenar o coração!"

Conta-nos a história de uma menina que tem problemas respiratórios e que tem sempre o oxímetro a 25 (o normal é 80 e 90 ideal). Certo dia, durante a história de uma princesa que vive no fundo do mar e que tem um vestido cor-de-rosa, com conchas que brilham no escuro (entre outras maravilhas que põe qualquer pessoa a sonhar) a menina dá um profundo suspiro. Vem a correr uma enfermeira que logo a questiona: o que se passa??? Nada. E o oxímetro estava a 40. E passados uns dias a 60. E com mais algum tempo a menina pede para tentar dormir sem o equipamento. Isto é simplesmente espectacular!

Falámos de saúde emocional. Falámos da forma como o voluntariado é importante, enche o coração e não rouba o trabalho de ninguém. Terminamos com mais uma surpresa: uma história contada com um livro de sombras. Que delícia! Obrigada Fernanda pela partilha. Obrigada Terra dos Sonhos pela iniciativa.

"And this beginning would set the tone of the entire conversation with a speaker who defines herself as" Mother, businesswoman / social entrepreneur and voluntary. "

We're talking about the European Year of Volunteering that she's been ahead of in 2011. She tells us they've done a lot, they've traveled all over the country and yet they have returned half of the budget that was made available to the project. Always in a relaxed way, she alerts to the importance of training before starting volunteer work, how identification is important and that in specific areas psychological support is fundamental (we speak for example of those who work with hospitalized children, as in her case).

She's volunteered in prisons and with older people, but chidren are the ones who make your heart beat faster. These same children who - we didn't knew this - we can't embrace, but who can give us hugs; this is due, for example, to the risk of the catheter that many have in their chest (we are talking about children at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology) can punch the heart. And the will to return the hug is so big (we can imagine).

We were informed that United Nations distinguishes 10 volunteers every year, that by law you can only volunteer after 15 years of age and that a volunteering project for people with reduced mobility and blind people will be launched next year.

If this weren't enough to fill up with good things all those who decided to be there, she makes with us the evening's share: Nuvem Vitória (Victory Cloud)! It's her new project. New only in the execution because it has been in her head since 2011. It started as a pilot project of 6 months in the Hospital of Santa Maria and was on this day shared with the world and with us in the first hand, privilege is what comes to my mind! The project has 40 volunteers who will tell stories for the children of this hospital to fall asleep. Again in her particular way, she says: "Tell a story or to calm the heart!"

She tells us the story of a girl who has respiratory problems and who always has the oximeter at 25 (normal is 80 and 90 ideal). One day, during the story of a princess who lives on the seabed and who has a pink dress, with shells that glow in the dark (among other wonders that make anyone dream), the girl gives a deep sigh. A nurse enters running and soon asks her: What's going on ??? Nothing. And the oximeter was at 40. And after a few days at 60. And in some more time the girl asks to try to sleep without the equipment. This is simply spectacular!

We talked about emotional health. We talked about how volunteering is important, fills the heart and doesn't steal anyone's work.
