PREPARADOS, PRONTOS, ACÇÃO!

A nossa aventura deste mês continua no dia anterior ao donativo. Sob a guarda do grande alfinete de ama que pontua a porta principal deixam-nos entrar. Estou com a Joana (Barrigas de Amor) e com uma ajuda super especial, o Duarte a.k.a. barriga de Amor original. Parece que não quis ficar em casa porque tinha que nos ajudar! E tem toda a razão. Ninguém quis ficar fora deste desafio! A Mariana (Ajuda de Berço) começa a trazer sacos e sacos de latas vazias... "Essas já são as cheias?" (pergunto), "Não, não!" Só repeti esta pergunta mais uma vez e aí achei que era melhor esperar porque as embalagens vazias não iam parar de chegar à sala onde estávamos, assim tão rapidamente. O mesmo acontece com o donativo da Nutriben. "Está tudo no seu escritório?" (pergunto eu de novo), "Não, está tudo na nossa despensa, é imensa coisa..." Quando lá chego, são caixotes e mais caixotes que da forma como estão arrumados são mais altos do que eu. Que coisa tão boa!

DE-CORAÇÃO

Uma semana antes da semana da acção, ligo à Adriana da Nutriben para confirmar as quantidades de papa e de leite previstas para o tecto que temos (1.000€). Diz-me ela assim: "Carolina, tenho uma proposta para lhe fazer, e se aumentarmos o tecto do desafio para 240 embalagens!" Imediatamente é Natal em Maio! Este donativo tão generoso foi a razão principal da nossa ida à Casa de Monsanto da Ajuda de Berço, onde decorreu a acção, um dia mais cedo. Praticamente DUPLICAMOS o donativo e temos que pôr mãos à obra mais cedo! Da mesma forma que foi de coração que vocês nos enviaram tantas latas e caixas vazias, também nós decoramos todas as embalagens que foram doadas pela Nutriben para facilmente se identificar o que foi recebido e o que foi doado. Durante esta nossa demanda, fizemos uma breve pausa para falar com a Vânia Lourenço do programa de televisão "Associações e Companhia" para contar o que estávamos a fazer na instituição naquela tarde e o que fazemos em geral na MUBU, momento que será integrado na reportagem que estavam a fazer sobre a Ajuda de Berço. Quando for para o ar avisamos!

NÚMEROS

O objectivo foi mais do que cumprido! Em termos gerais recebemos 130 kg de produto e doamos 105 kg! Isto é tão espectacular!!! Vejam em detalhe:

TODOS JUNTOS pusemos a mexer 425 embalagens (entre cheias e vazias) para ajudar estes bebés!

DIA D

Chegou o grande dia e a energia para preparar esta entrega é contagiante. A nossa e da equipa da Ajuda de Berço, claro, porque as crianças estão a fazer a sesta! Começamos a montar todos os elementos. Passa um ou outro olhar curioso, mas vê-se bem que sabem ao que vimos. Percebe-se que a equipa técnica está informada que neste dia teriam uma "invasão" do seu espaço pelas melhores razões! Está tudo montado. Embalagens cheias e vazias sobram em quantidade... Por isso daquilo que vos mostramos há mais por trás (tentámos pôr tudo o melhor possível, para vos mostrar TUDO), o que não está à vista está lá e no mesmo espírito como se estivesse na primeira fila! A acção corre sobre rodas.

Entregamos formalmente o donativo em forma de cheque que quantifica o produto doado. A Ajuda de Berço oferece as latas recicladas pelas crianças mais velhas (não foram só os bebés a participarem na acção!!!), ficaram um amor! Trocamos experiências. Partilhamos ideias. Há um sentimento muito forte de alegria e, da nossa parte, missão cumprida!

DE NARIZ ENCOSTADO À JANELA

Acção terminada e estamos a organizar as coisas para que fique tudo impecável, aliás, conforme encontramos quando aqui chegamos. Entretanto as crianças já acordaram e estão a brincar no pátio interior. A curiosidade é notória. Alguém encosta o nariz à janela. Encosto o meu. E uma mão. Depois outra. Por segundos o coração fica apertado, mas só por segundos, porque hoje ajudamos a fazer a diferença, porque acredito no trabalho que esta equipa faz e na sorte que estas crianças têm de poderem fazer parte desta família.

WE HAVE A LOT OF CANS!

(portuguese expression that woulg mean: We have a lot of nerve!)

READY, SET, GO!

Our adventure continues the day before of the donation. Under the guard of the great safety pin that punctuates the main entrance they let us in. I'm with Joana (Barrigas de Amor - Bellies of Love) and with a super special help, Duarte a.k.a. the original belly of love. Looks like he didn't want to stay at home because he had to help us! And he's absolutely right. Nobody wanted to stay out of this challenge! Mariana (Ajuda de Berço - Cradle's Aid) begins to bring bags and bags of empty cans ... "Are these already the full ones?" (I ask), "No, no!" I only repeated this question one more time and then I thought it would be better to wait because the empty packages wouldn't stop coming to the room where we were, so quickly. The same thing happens with the donation from Nutriben. "Is everything in your office?" (me again), "No, it's all in our pantry, it's a lot of things ..." When I get there, it's boxes and more boxes that are tidy up in such a way that it is taller then me . Such a good thing!

DECORATION

(in portuguese we say de-coração, wich also means from the heart)

One week before the week of the action, I call Adriana from Nutriben to confirm the quantities of pap and milk for the ceiling we have defined (€ 1,000). She says to me, "Carolina, I have a proposal for you, what if we raise the ceiling of the challenge to 240 packages!" Immediately it's Christmas in May! This generous donation was the main reason for our trip, one day earlier, to the Monsanto House in Ajuda de Berço where the action took place. We practically DUPLICATED the donation and we have to get to work sooner! Just as it was from the heart that you've sent us so many cans and empty boxes, we also decorated all the packages that were donated by Nutriben to easily identify what was received and what was donated. During our demand, we made a brief pause to speak with Vânia Lourenço of the television program "Associations and Company" to tell them what we were doing in the institution that afternoon and what we do in general at MUBU, that moment will be integrated into the program that they were doing about Ajuda de Berço. When it's on air, we'll let you know!

NUMBERS

The goal was more than fulfilled! In general we've received 130 kg of product and we've donated 105 kg! This is so awesome!!! See in detail:

ALL TOGETHER we moved 425 packages (between full and empty) to help these babies!

D DAY

The big day has arrived and the energy to prepare for this delivery is contagious. Ours and the Ajuda de Berço's team, of course, because the kids are napping! We started to assemble all the elements. Curious looks pass by, but we can see that they know what we are doing there. It's noticed that the technical team is informed that on this day they would have an "invasion" of their space for the best reasons! It's all set. Full and empty packages remain in quantity ... So from what we showed you there are more behind (we tried to put everything the best way possible, to show you EVERYTHING), what's not in sight is there (although behind) and in the same spirit as if it was in the front row! The action runs smoothly. The donation is formally delivered in the form of a check that quantifies the donated product. Ajuda de Berço offers the recycled cans by the older children (it wasn't only the babies who participated in the action!!!), they were lovely! We exchanged experiences. We shared ideas. There is a very strong sense of joy and, on our part, mission accomplished!

NOSE LEANED TO THE WINDOW

Action finished and we're organizing things so that everything is impeccable groomed, just as we found when we arrived here. Meanwhile the children are already awake and playing in the inner courtyard. Curiosity is notorious. Someone puts its nose to the window. I put mine too. And a hand. Then the other. For seconds my heart is tight, but only for a few seconds, because today we helped to make a difference, because I believe in the work that this team does and in the luck that these children have to be able to be part of this family.
